Reflection on the Inaugural AIA Global Tournament

To our Members and Shareholders,

The inaugural AIA Global Tournament represents one of the most significant milestones in the history of our organization. More importantly, it demonstrated that the vision of a truly global championship for All Star Cheer and Dance is not only possible—it is sustainable.

Throughout tournament week, more than 3,000 people came through the doors of the Auditorium de Verdun.

The presence of the AIA extended well beyond the competition venue, from Montréal–Trudeau International Airport to the streets of downtown Montréal and the Borough of Verdun. Representatives from more than 16 nations—including athletes, coaches, officials, VIP delegates, partners, judges, and supporters—came together to participate in an event unlike any our sport has experienced.

This achievement belongs to every member, shareholder, volunteer, official, and staff member who believed in the vision and committed themselves to making it a reality.

Our staff worked tirelessly to deliver an event that reflected the professionalism, hospitality, and operational standards expected of an international championship. Our leadership team remained focused on executing the tournament in accordance with the policies, standards, and philosophy that have been developed over the past several years.

Beyond competition, Executive Leadership dedicated significant time to meeting personally with gym owners, head coaches, international delegates, VIP guests, and strategic partners. These conversations provided invaluable feedback and strengthened relationships that will shape the future direction of both the Global Tournament and the Association.

As expected with any inaugural event of this magnitude, we also identified opportunities for growth. Rather than viewing these as setbacks, we see them as essential milestones in the evolution of our organization.

Some of the hardest lessons we learn are often the most valuable. They cannot be taught—they must be lived. While every organization hopes to avoid difficult moments, it is often those experiences that build resilience, sharpen leadership, and ultimately make us stronger. We embrace those lessons with humility, knowing they will help shape a better organization and an even stronger Global Tournament in the years ahead.

Immediate action has already begun in several key areas:

Strengthening internal and external communication across all levels of the organization.
Restructuring the tournament planning process to ensure the appropriate expertise and leadership are engaged throughout every stage of event development.
Expanding education surrounding the AIA Tournament Model, organizational philosophy, and operational standards to ensure greater consistency across all stakeholders.
Refining operational procedures and documenting best practices to create an even more seamless experience for athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, and partners.

One of the greatest strengths of the Association of International All Star is our willingness to evaluate ourselves honestly. We celebrate our successes, acknowledge our shortcomings, and take decisive action to improve. That commitment to continuous improvement will remain a defining characteristic of our organization.

From an organizational standpoint, the Global Tournament validated the Association's operating model, strengthened relationships with international stakeholders, and provided the leadership team with meaningful insight that will guide strategic planning, budgeting, governance, and operational improvements moving forward. The experience gained through this inaugural championship has accelerated the maturity of our organization and better positioned us for future international expansion.

The inaugural AIA Global Tournament established more than champions—it established credibility. It proved that our organization can deliver a world-class international championship while creating meaningful opportunities for athletes, programs, and member organizations across the globe.

As we now shift our focus toward the 2027 AIA Global Tournament, our responsibility is clear: build upon this foundation, strengthen our operations, expand our global reach, and continue delivering experiences that elevate our sport and create lasting value for our members and shareholders.
